St. Xavier's James has UC offer

Matt James, St. Xavier sophomore football OL, has an offer from UC coach Brian Kelly. That's according to St. X coach Steve Specht.

James is 6-7 and 270 pounds and it's "a lean 270," Specht said. James played substantial minutes for the Bombers' 15-0 D-I state champion team this past season.

"If he grows into his body, he's going to be something special," Specht said.

At 6'7 he surely has alot of growing he can do- from his 270 to 325 would still probably be lean. WOW.

I can't say for sure because I don't know how important distance is to him. If distance and his family are very important to him, then Cincy could very well have a shot. It's impossible to say right now.

Matt says he has verbal offers from Cincinnati, Illinois & Tennessee. Getting interest from NC State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Virginia Tech.
